Blake Lively says she has ‘control issues’ as she admits to having a ‘big ego’

Blake Lively has confessed she has ‘control issues’ – and she does not seem ashamed in admitting it.

The 30-year-old has revealed that she doesn’t have a stylist and is excited that her job allows her to be creative with her fashion – but as she said in a recent interview, there is a big reason behind why she’s shunned a professional eye in the wardrobe.

Despite her thinking that putting together her outfits is ‘a lot of work’, the star loves to plan out her own wardrobe as it’s so different to her career in acting.

Talking to about why she doesn’t have a stylist, Blake said: ‘Probably because I have control issues and a big ego – that’s probably the honest answer.

‘I just like it. I love design and I love fashion and it’s a way to be creative. In my job I get to be creative, but it’s over a period of time and so many other people are involved, whereas this is a beginning, middle and end, and I get to be creative and there’s an end date in the near future.’

She went on to say that she enjoys doing her friend’s hair and make-up for exactly the same reason, and said she gets instant satisfaction with the results, unlike her job where she has to wait sometimes years to see the finished film.

However despite her enjoyment, being able to choose her own clothes and style does wear the star down, and so she has an assistant to help her when it comes to designer items.

Ah, see, there’s the celebrity.

She said: ‘I mean, it’s not hard in that we all dress ourselves every morning. So once you have the clothes, you just pick out what to wear like any other human being does. But it’s easier because you have access to clothes and so it’s not that hard.’

Although the Met Gala is still two months away, the mother-of-two is already working on her outfit and revealed that she has just sent jeweller-friend Lorraine Schwartz and Christian Louboutin her dress, who told her they were going to do ‘something special’ while customising it.

And that is why we’d love to be famous. Just saying.
